Damn Straight!
Boken är inte den bästa... dock så är boken Electronical properties of materials en mycket bättre och mer strukturerad bok, som dessutom rekommederades att köpas då kursen hette elektronikska material

Suggestion: add the Twitter Blog plugin to Wordpress: http://www.twitterblogplugin.com/

That way my reply to your announcement tweet (that I will read Speaker for the Dead after the exams) would have magically showed up here :)

Very interesting read / listen! When I started my own company I had kinda same idea's; Not really to make more money but to improve computer usability, making them work for us and not the other way around + offer a cheaper solution than all other IT companies that imo charged way too much for simple tasks. Also, FREEDOM was a big thing for me and still is. Would it be an option to start your company in Sweden but work in Japan? Might even be a good thing trust wise because afaik Sweden has a pretty good name.

I would for sure send a mail to Danny, he's like so connected to everybody and their mom, maybe even ask him to make a full article about it? A twitter message might be enough... He just posted this tweet btw "Just to let you know that I've set up a new anime production company called "Mirai Fusion" Should have a PV for you to see soon." :)

@Emanuel, Oh yes, successful startups can easily be found; but not that much info about them in English. TechCrunch Japan (http://jp.techcrunch.com/) writes daily about companies and meetups – unfortunately none of it is in english.

I hadn't seen tokyotronic, might give some good info. I've been thinking about mailing Danny for a very long time, but I'm sort of doubtful on how much info he has about it. To my knowledge he wasn't funded, he's not in the kind of typical "high-growth" venture but more of a regular small business. Though he does know a lot of players on the market so could be worth it anyway.

Very good! However, did you actually find an example of a successful startup in Japan? :)

Also, seems like Techcrunch arranges events in Tokyo. 12 startups pitched their thing: http://techcrunch.com/2009/08/30/techcrunch-japans-tokyo-camp-12-startups-demo-their-wares/

And Tokyotronic seems like a good resource as well: http://www.tokyotronic.com/

Danny Choo should have a good idea of the market as well. Perhaps asking him? :)

Very nice way of summarizing the book.

I'm also very interested in the potential for an entrepreneur in Japan (Tokyo probably). Keep me posted if you find something, as this is one of the big factors when I consider my future country of residence.

Looks like a great book but I'm afraid it's to heavy for me to go through. Now can somebody please turn it into a documentary on DVD? That would be great!

I just needed to comment about the "girlish" Japanese.
Women and Men does infact speek a very different language all over the world.
For instance, If you ask a guy "whats the matter?" He answer "nothing" meaning nothing. When you ask a woman the same question and she answers "nothing" it really means "IF YOU ARE SO STUPID THAT YOU CANT FIGURE IT OUT, I SURE AS HELL WONT TELL YOU!!!" In Sweden thats called "flickiska"
Wonder if thats what your Japanese speaking friend meant? :-)
